You can go all the way to the back half of the loop where the county has built two wooden observation decks to let you look out across sections of Lake Lafayette. Always a nice place to go birding, but double check to make sure there isn't a cross-country meet going on first.

One of the best, if not the best XC course in Florida. I have had the privilege of going to several high school XC races, including the FHSAA State Cross Country Finals. Great venue and well run.

Hi Lauren! An area is currently designated for dog recreational activities, near the radio air control field ( 1 of 4 main quadrants of the field areas at Apalachee). I do know it is not an fully yet developed activities course for dogs ( tunnels, flagged, inclines, ...stakes..) but as part of the 5yr plan--2017-2021-- Stage 1 of ~ $3.1million proposed allotment for construction of these type of amenities ( even the ultimate disc golf course, more bike trail definitions, canoeing, kids park, local art work ( tree carving display..), and coach docking areas ( gardens and so much more...NCCA championship Cross country in 2021)), I understand the dog agility course is steadily being developed into something wonderful:)! Some come out with their lovable k-9 friends and walk, run, fetch, train in the gorgeous field. Stage 2 ( following 2021 shall surely be the fullness of the Fullness, if you know what I mean ;) ) Does that help mam? Take good care, Lauren
