Love the churches but this conference is all about politics. Sounds like the Bishop may be also selling out???? I could not agree more with the individual's review above! We have politicians coming to our inner-city church events and we are installing large TV screens and sound systems in our little tiny sanctuary (ie. a stage). The conference has also sent a realtor to the church to see what price/rent the conference can get for the building if sold or if businesses/campaign offices would move in. We are told our mission is no longer teaching the word of God and practice love of all, but , I quote, "we have to make money". The conference is assigning non-denomination licensed "pastors" (can be purchased on line) that do not use Methodist liturgy, the United Methodist Book of Worship, OR even hymns. Think I might become a Lutheran??
