I highly recommend trying out windsurfing for those who like a challenge. They also have kayaks and paddle boards. George from Delmarva Board Sports was super helpful!

Our kayaking experience at Delmarva was really great! We would recommend this spot as it was a cool area, with live music right where we went out. The kayaks were nice ones the staff was very friendly & helpful. We would recommend this place & hope to come back again next season!

Rented kayaks from Delmarva Board Sports not once, but twice over Labor Day weekend. First we rented 3 kayaks for a day, which we reserved in advance and had delivered to our house (the $29 drop off fee included both drop off and pick up to us in Rehoboth, I think it’s free if you’re within Dewey Beach). Our college-aged kid and friends used them for the day, launching from a boat ramp near our house. Next day my husband, younger kid and I decided we wanted to kayak on the bay, so we rented 2 kayaks for 2 hours and launched from their location on the bay. We had a great time paddling on the bay. The people who helped us were really nice. Will definitely be renting kayaks from here again.

Pleasant, helpful & knowledgeable staff, great-quality equipment, convenient parking immediately nearby, competitively-priced, a well-constructed web presence with lots of info and an easy reservation process, a large swath of protected bay waters with various shores incl marsh-grass/inlets (for those who want to see herons, ospreys) and small beaches - not sure what else you could ask for!

For paddle boarding, you will have the best experience in winds less than 10-12 mph. For kayaking, winds less than 14-16 mph. White caps happen at about 18-19 mph. Small craft advisories kick in at 23 mph. Usually mornings and evenings are calmer. Afternoons are generally windy and great for windsurfing lessons.
Children must know how to self support in water with a PFD on to ride in a kayak. Remember a life vest is not an end all. We do provide PFDs for all sizes.
Yes. Times vary. Must make reservation for private lessons or call to see when guided tours are offered. Guided tour will get you up and on the board paddling.
