Worst experience in 28 yrs trusting St. Joe's ER with our urgent and elective medical services. Took my husband in 76 yrs old for diabetic crisis, sugar level over 600, incontinent, left side deficit due to previous stroke. He was placed in a wheel chair in a room, seen by a doctor, orders issued but no one cared to initiate treatment. An hour later a nurse came by, I alerted her that my husband needed help, she replied they were full and had no beds available for him and further to expect a wait in his chair for a couple of hours without treatment because she informed that an IV couldn't be started in the room he was in. My husband taking lasix, soaked to the bone with his urine, the floor flooded and here she expected us to wait for a bed, when I asked her to help me clean him up at least, she threw a fit she was too busy. Asked for her manager and she stated that she was the charge nurse "Jenna" and no other superior on call but her. She demanded i leave and she requested security to escort me out of the hospital but I knew better and called the hospital house manager who was their in minutes and sorted her out. She removed her from my husband's care and I got to stay and my husband received the treatment he needed. Now, was it necessary for her to make an incident with a senior citizen patient and his wife? of course not. She lacked knowledge of patient courtesy, patient care and most of all she lacked self respect as a professional. It was a battle to get him treated and for that we will not go back to St. Joe's again.

This hospital is so annoying!!!! I was in the ER and they were going to discharge me without my ultrasound results . I wish I read the reviews before coming here .

There appear to be numerous vacancies in various postions. All career opportunities are done through United Health Group of which St Joseph, Mercy Gilbert and Chandler Regional are all affiliates.
