The office is very nice and the staff and doctors are pleasant and effective, but for anyone high risk for COVID I think it should be known that not one person masks in this office. I get tired of advocating for myself as a survivor of COVID in 2020 and permanently disabled by the virus. I know Arizona and America in general is tired of COVID and is in denial, but for doctor’s office to not have protections in place is bizarre. I go to Mayo for my care and my children’s pediatrician for their care, and both places are STILL fully masked. I even mentioned to Dr. Kayce I had a very hard time with my infection and need to be safe and he just said, “Oh yes, we have been dealing with it for years”. He and his fellow didn’t ask if I wanted them to mask and just carried on like it didn’t matter what I had said. I needed to be stronger and insist on them masking but I was tired and kinda shocked. Next time I will call ahead and I will advocate for my safety. All lives matter and for many COVID is NOT the flu.

I needed two surgeries last year (2021). The staff was the absolute worst group of people I ever had to work with. Anything and everything I needed them to take care of I had to request twice. The nurse that scheduled my surgeries didn’t set up my pre surgery appointment until the day before in a panic. She also didn’t notify me that a scooter wasn’t covered by insurance. I could have ordered one online ahead of time if I had known. They were rude and difficult to deal with. I was on an airplane when the were filling out information for a second Set of FMLA paperwork. I had to have someone rush to turn in the paperwork for the second time, since I was getting on a plane to go see my dad in Illinois who was dying. The second surgery wasn’t much better!! There was a horrible lack of communication with the doctor. I felt it was his job to inform me what the surgery would and wouldn’t do prior to the surgeries. I didn’t know what questions to ask since this was the first surgery I ever had. Fortunately, I was able to find another doctor after the second surgery. Very disappointed!!! I thought that they were supposed to be there for the patient, but apparently not.

After seeing multiple doctors after my foot injury I finally felt like Dr. Kayce look his time with explaining what was going on. Together we came up with a treatment plan that I understood and was on board with. Dr. Kayce was very patient and thorough with me every time I saw him. It was very refreshing to be under the care of a doctor who made sure I knew what was going on throughout the process!

Unfortunately, we are not contracted with that particular plan. We do offer affordable cash price options, however. Please call the office for details, as we would be most willing to help you. Thank you.

Does your doctors offer minimally invasive bunion removal surgery utilizing a burr instead of a bone saw?

Our physicians are well-versed and trained in all aspects of bunion deformity correction. There are numerous surgical options to correct a bunion deformity. The most optimal and recommend procedure is dependent upon a multitude of factors. The short answer is yes, our doctors do and can perform MIS hallux valgus correction. However, there are variables to consider such as integrity of the joint, extent of deformity, quality of bone, age and activity demands of patient, and much more. I hope this helps.
