US Digestive Health at West Chester

This is the same facility called "West Chester GI Assoc PC", which only received 3.5 start on Google. To bad that I was not aware of that before I had an awful scheduling experience with them. I tried to schedule an appointment for my parents who do not speak English. I live with my parents and know every bit of their life. An arrogant staff started with throwing out medical terminologies to us and correcting the pronunciations of these words. She then continued with questioning/asking for proof for everything I said about my parents. Finally she claimed that I did not do the right translation for my parents even thought she knows nothing about the language we spoke. When she threatened that no appointment if we did not behave in the translation as she requested (she wanted to clearly hear my father answering her question on the phone and she wanted my translation be the same length, by her judgement, of my father's speech) , that's it. I called the game over and hang off the phone. Their service desk needs professional training.

Staff and Doctor were super friendly and helpful. Due to my own error I showed up an hour early for my appointment, and they still got me in quickly, with all courtesy. Such visits can be awkward, both nurse and doctor were patient with my unease.

My mom has been a patient there for a few years and while we love the providers, she has needed a colonoscopy since being in the hospital twice with diverticulitis and having colon cancer in her family. Her doctor recommended she get a colonoscopy 8 weeks after leaving the hospital which was almost 1 year ago. The office keeps telling us that there are no more spots for colonoscopy scheduling and that she is on the wait list. As medical provider and someone who used to work in GI, I find this to be absurd. I cannot imagine what issue they have that they have been unable to solve in the last year.. Since mom is not able to get this recommended procedure, I don’t feel like the care at this practice is safe.

Office was spacious and well organized. Greeted as I came in. Appointment was on time. Dr Ahktar was very pleasant and didn't miss a thing, RN staff as well. Explained his plan and medications. Recommend this practice.
