Hello Bonnie, No, appraisals can potentially be needed for all types of jewelry. We are happy to offer guidance / advice on if you even need an insurance appraisal, as many homeowners or renters policies already cover a certain dollar amount. We always encourage people to use an appraiser (preferably a Gemologist that is an expert in jewelry), that is familiar with appraising and facets that go with it. Some appraisers will not go over all of these things with you, and will just charge you for an appraisal that you may not need.
