Average earnings for a local driver is $60,000/year but it really depends on how much the employee works. It can be more or less depending on time with the company and hours worked per week. TWIC card is required. NYC loads pay an extra $40. Local drivers cover any freight that doesn't take them away from home overnight. The normal radius is 200-250 miles at most.
