I'm an avid reader, so I like to check out bookstores for hidden gems when I'm out and about. I came in from out of town and this spot popped up atop the list when I did a search for bookstore. I liked the vibe this place gave off and found a couple of books to add to the library. What I really enjoyed was how the community looked to benefit from the business. I arrived as a live event was wrapping up, and it was nice to see what was in place for the community. Highly recommend this spot.

I used to love ordering books from this shop, but they have severly declined in their customer service and support. I loved them so much that one of my colleauges gave me a gift card for them as a graduation present in May 2022. I had my shopping list saved on my Dock Bookshop account and ready to go, so I stocked my shopping cart and checked out right away with my gift card (May 8). Unfortuately one of the books that I ordered was "out of stock/not available and do not have an inventory arrival date, and has been deleted from your order" (May 13). I attempted to place a new order several times using the same gift card, but it did not work. It showed a $0 balance at the online checkout. I called the bookstore directly and spoke to the owner who asserted that she saw that I had a remaining gift card balance and would call me back to place the order. She never called me back. I emailed on June 21 and nobody ever responded. I continued calling and eventually the inbox became full. Did I mention that I live almost 3 hours away? Well, I was finally in the Dallas area on the weekend of August 20, so I stopped by to see if there could be a resolution. The Dock Bookshop representative told me that she saw my gift card balance and would place the order for me manually. I saw her write my order down, take my information for shipping, and placed the order slip with a pile of others. She said the book would need to be ordered and would take a few weeks to come in. I was satisfied with this resolution and left. Well, I never recieved an email confirmation and tried calling again, but the same results... nothing. At this point, I feel decieved and cheated.

We require a mask and have sanitizer available upon entry and throughout the store. We sanitize and clean throughout the day to maintain a clean atmosphere.
