Sleep Inn & Suites Bismarck I-94

I spent one night at the Sleep Inn & Suites in Bismarck, North Dakota. I made my reservations online using the Choice Hotels Website. Upon arrival, I was immediately greeted and recognized as a Choice Privileges Member. Check-In was quick and in no time, I was in my room. The King Room was large, clean and well attended. The bed was well made and very comfortable. I enjoyed a quiet stay with no road or outside noise. The Wi-Fi was strong, quick and worked well during my stay. This hotel features a large, well lit parking lot that can accommodate a large number of hotel guests. While this hotel was clean, and very comfortable, the employees go out of their way to make you feel welcome and ensure that you have a wonderful and enjoy stay. This Sleep Inn is an excellent hotel, and I would not hesitate staying here again.

I don't know why some of the house keeping works here bc they're absolutely so sweet but the GM Christopher is not in the right position. The fridge will freeze your whole grocery shopping trip and then he has the audacity to tell me the knob to control it is on top. Like I told him there's no way anyone's hand is fitting through the top not even an infant. The sink was clogged and the tub had hair in it that clearly didn't belong to me the first night bc I don't have black hair. Smells like water stagnation but the lobby smells great. The GM Christopher decided to walk away as I was asking him about my food so very rude. Called him once the maintenance came to verify the know to control the temp is indeed in the back so you have to pull the whole thing out (as a guest that is NOT my job) if something would happen if I did I would be blamed. He finally made that right after maintenance indeed verified its NOT where he claimed to keep from making it right but the initial attitude did it for me. The lady who was helping him at the front desk doesn't belong in hospitality she has no personality and never even spoke when trying to make up for the bad food kept walking away and had me at the front desk for 30mins while walking away without saying a word and the fact she's at least 60 with that attitude is alarming. Over all I hope to never stay ..enter at your own risk

--UPDATE-- I'm adding a star from my original (2 star) review. I was contacted by management several days after my stay (and subsequent feedback). Although it doesn't change how I feel about the experience itself, it does reflect well on the Sleep Inn brand. As I said in my original review, all of the staff we interacted with were incredibly friendly and I think this is yet another example of that. I still wouldn't recommend staying in the pet-friendly rooms until they make a serious change to the carpets & furniture. However, if you don't need a pet-friendly room then I think this a superb choice for a stay in Bismarck. --ORIGINAL REVIEW-- I'll start with the positives: 1. Location The location is great. Right off the interstate. No more than a 10 minute drive to anything you could possibly need during your stay. 2. Staff Our stay was short, but the staff we interacted with were all very friendly. Now the reason for 2 stars? I've stayed in a number of pet-friendly rooms with my dog. I have NEVER stayed in a room that smelt so terrible. It was the most pungent smell of wet/dirty dog I've ever come across in a pet-friendly room. It was nearly unbearable. I even went to the store to buy anything I could think of that might make the smell a little more tolerable. It was awful. It was so bad that if you had the door open you could smell the room from down the hallway. The carpet should be replaced and all of the furniture thrown out. It's unfortunate because I think our stay would have been a five star stay had the room not smelt so bad. The rest of the hotel was nice and clean and I'm sure the other rooms were. However, ours was foul smelling and that definitely ruined our experience. I would not recommend staying at this hotel IF you need a pet friendly room. Otherwise, I think it's a great spot.

Very clean, nice staff great location will stay here again! Breakfast starts at 6 goes to 9 Mon-Friday and 6-10am sat-Sunday. Breakfast is good buffet style was not a fan of the coffee.
