We moved our mother into MacArthur Hills after a couple of falls. She was previously at the Remington at Valley Ranch, Senior independent living where she lived for over six years and loved it. She didn’t want to leave the Remington but my brother and I felt she needed more care. We contacted MacArthur Hills and set up a meeting with their sales staff. It was a pretty hard sale with promises of free months rent but we had to decide right away. I balked and decided to wait until I had done further research. During this time, I was in touch with sales staff frequently with questions. Calls were returned immediately. Good sign. When we decided MacArthur Hills was the place, the special offers had decreased considerably, but we chose to go ahead. Our mother was in a rehab facility at the time so we made all the arrangements for the move. We had to pay an extra $800per month for additional care. The staff were to check in on her frequently which they did during the day, but not at night unfortunately. Two nights our mother slept on the floor after a fall - she pushed her pendant button to alert staff to come to her aid, but neither time did that happen. The second time, she broke her hip which lead to her death. The sales staff also assured us there were doctors on staff and gave us their names, however, those doctors don’t exist. There is a doctor. But it’s not who they thought it was. Staff stopped returning phone calls when we asked questions- funny how that happens after you have signed a lease. The only good thing I can say about this place is that the food they provided was good. Kathryn and Heidi, I’m ashamed of you

My mom was in memory care for 2 1/2 years here. You are paying for a lot of overhead that memory care is not using. The staff is rotated through, lots of new staff especially on weekends. Not enough staff to handle the residents. Residents left in front of the TV, not enough interaction. There were quite a few of the staff that were great and took great care of the residents but they couldn't be there all the time. We have moved to another facility and only wish we had done it sooner.

MacArthur Hills Senior Living assisted my dad in his last months of life. They provided excellent care, compassion and dedication to his needs and those of the family. Caring staff who kept us fully informed as to his condition, needs and offered their services wholeheartedly. The facility is clean, well maintained, and secure. Food was very good and their rotating dietary selection was excellent for my dads needs. Recommend you check out the facility if your in need of a place for you loved one. Cost were very completive with other facilities, but their service was worth any extra expense. Thank you MacArthur Hills for caring for my father.

For some reason they can’t let me/us know when they go on lockdown due to covid or when they lifted covid. Also you can’t get a hold of anybody or they will not return calls.
