“Who is Best” is an opinion and depends on who you talk to! There are dozens of awards that attempt to qualify attorneys, although many of these can be purchased. Both Greg Westfall and Frank Sellers are AV® Preeminent Rated by Martindale, which uses a system of client and peer reviews to determine who are truly the most exceptional lawyers. Reviews are another way to qualify the best attorneys, although those with the most reviews aren’t always the “best” fit. Perhaps an attorney has 50 five-star reviews, but primarily focuses on low-level misdemeanor cases. This would probably not be your best option in a complex fraud case. Be cautious when relying only on awards and reviews. Meet your attorneys. Do you like them? Do they seem personable? Are they genuine? Did they come up with a good plan?
