We had such a good experience with Surf Diva! Easy booking, good prices, awesome location, and great instructor. I have never surfed before and found the instructor to be super helpful and empowering. Would definitely recommend to anyone who is looking to try out surfing!

We rented our wetsuits there (2 days in a row), and my daughter had her first surfing lesson. All in all, a great experience. Friendly, knowledgeable, and reasonably priced. Definitely come here!

Surf Diva is the best!!! Kids love the summer surf camp (returning year after year), the owners and staff are kind and fun, and I never go to La Jolla Shores without visiting the Surf Diva boutique where I got my favorite hoodie, my favorite stickers, and my favorite ring. And I love that offer something for everyone, including lessons for adults and even retreats in Costa Rica.

Surf lessons were excellent, instruction was constructive! With the surf lessons, you receive 20% the surf diva store. We took advantage as they have some great clothes! When the security tags were accidentally left on, I called the store to inquire about what to do, as the store was far from my house. The owner of the store personally called me and arranged a way for them to be removed. Great service. Would recommend the surf lessons!

The sales clerks are masked the entire time and the entrance is open to the fresh air the entire time. Safe. The whole town is strictly following the regulations, actually.
Aloha Darrell! Thanks for reaching out! This is a great question. Being comfortable swimming underwater is a requirement for learning to surf. For kids we recommend being able to retrieve a toy at the bottom of a shallow pool. This confidence will make the surf lesson more enjoyable.
