We love the Freeport Public Library. We primarily use the youth area and Amanda has developed such creative ways to keep youth engaged and loving books, all during the pandemic as well. Kudos the the Youth services area. All of the librarians and staff are helpful and welcoming as well. Thank you for serving the community so well!

What a great place! I have taken great nephews to explore. It's wonderful to see their expressions when they try to grasp that they could borrow any of these books! The meeting rooms are very handy (and impressive for your guests). I like to try new movies for free and audio CDs of book for long road trips or commutes. Thanks to all the Staff for your welcoming help!

My most favorite place ever! Books, CDs, movies, games, all available for checkout. Can't find what you're looking for? Prairie cat is easy to use to put that item you're searching for on hold. So many activities for the youngsters in the children's section, and plenty of activities for adults.

The PrairieCat website lets you search for items at Freeport Public and lots of other local libraries: https://search.prairiecat.info/iii/encore
Your PIN # is the last 4 digits of the number on your library card.
I'd recommend taking them to Voices too.
I dont believe so. Best place for that in Freeport is Highland Community College.
At the library, Greg. If you're a local, bring in something recently mailed to your current address to prove where you live.
Sorry ES, It's closed today 4Presidents Day

It depends on where you live. If you are paying taxes to any library, you can get a card there and use that card at the Freeport Library. Otherwise, if you live in an unincorporated area, the cost is a specific percentage of your property taxes. If you call or go in, they should be able to give you a quote. It can be anywhere from $50-200 depending on the value of your home.
