Not only does thrift away have a friendly staff, they have a excellent selection of fresh produce and bulk foods. Bulk foods are the standard staples but adduinally they offer honey, oils, vinegars a f in seperet locations bulk spices and house old cleaning products. If you didn't bring your own container they have a selection of glass containers you can pearchese tare and fill. The produce was all beautiful with lots of options that were NOT pre packaged additionally they offer interesting produce like gooseberries, I picked up some tayberries which I've never seen before makde them into a crumble that was delicious. I can't forget to mention some of the best tomatoes I've had from a grocery store they were "heirloom" . Cannot say enough good things.

Friendly kind staff, expansive deli counter ( custom sandwiches and burrito bar being my favorite, chicken strips waffle fries kids favorite). Floral counter, Espresso bar, growlers, wine. Butcher/ fish counter high quality. A little of everything though just a few brands rather than every maker of pickles for example. I will note that being as everything gets trucked in by ferry: a) prices are higher b) watch for very narrow expiration dates on meat and fruit and veggies and bread. Use them when you buy them basically. That being said it's a great place to shop and it appears to be a good employer/ offers full benefits.
