I live on the river and have 3 different kinds of jet skis and a boat, only drive one at a time I have to pay 400 bucks a year in sticker fees, we should be able to get transferable plaques like dealers or discounted rates like the fleet boats get. II have yet to see them dredging the river by me. In past years they would have the river closed allot we still stuck with paying allot of fees.

The Fox Waterwaterway could care less about the people living on the chain. Me and my neighbors pay waterfront taxes,yet we cant use our channel because The Waterway wont dredge the channel. All the Millions they rake in from chain stickers,and they cry poor. Someone should be checking the books.

Lets break down the "Response from the owner" to the post left by "Jonathan Bradley" True "The IDNR manages the gates" False "works to minimize flooding on the system." Rita Lee from IDNR sits in an office in Springfield and adjusts the waterway level when a computer tells her the level is high. FACT more water can enter from Wisconsin then can be released at the gates. FACT Rita Lee looks at the rain fall in the area but doesn't look at how quickly the rain has fallen. 2" of rain in an hour will put more into the river then 2" over 24 hour time. FACT Rita Lee doesn't work weekends or holidays so if the water on the system is rising on Friday nothing will be done until Monday. FACT the entire system never was at normal winter pool in 2018-2019. FACT the Fox River and Chain of lakes has flooded more since the Fox waterway agency was created. FACT Rita Lee is REACTIVE to the water level while she should be PROACTIVE and start to lower the level when Wisconsin gets large amounts of rain. FACT it takes THREE DAYS for the water level at New Munster Wisconsin to reach the Chain of lakes. THREE DAYS Rita Lee has to react and be PROACTIVE before the water gets here. The construction of flood gates costing Millions in Mchenry was Suppose to control flooding in the area. However there is Nothing to prevent or limit the water flow into the Chain from Wisconsin. Hopefully the local businesses will get together to file a class action lawsuit. THEN maybe Rita Lee from IDNR will change her ways since she can't get fired being a Government worker.

As of today The lakes are no wake. The upper river above the dam is no wake. Lower river below the dam is closed. www.foxwaterway.com is a faster way to find out.. Be safe
Because no homes want water in them from a wake. And boats still need to stay on there lifts.so the lower section is no wake till the water is low enough. Not to mention when the water is being drawn down it makes it difficult to dock with the water moving at as much as 15 to 20 mph. I hope that helped
Yes you would need a sticker for a kayak. The only non-motorized not requiring a sticker is a paddle board.
Passes for the whole system cost $20 per day. There are no separate passes for just the river.
About the middle of the boat on each side. On a pontoon generally up on the side panels. On a boat it's easy on the side glass

No on the river, I'd love to open the Chain at some point over the weekend! Thankfully its beginning to drop but if the IDNR does it too quickly they flood people out even more down river.
