I called before going and was told exhibits will be open until 5 PM. Drove 30 mins and arrived at 4pm to be told “yeah sorry we’re prepping for a Bar mitzvah”, we’re closed. Could have easily let us view quick and leave while 2 people sat at the door relaxing. Others were arriving to view exhibit as well because google and the website called out closing time as 5pm. Poor customer service and zero regard for our time.

Beautiful old mansion. Well worth a visit.

Beautiful historic home, made for a nice walk through. The museum lacked information about the home itself and its art collection. Though the current exhibit ‘Ghosts of Segregation’ was fascinating. $10 wasn’t bad, but like i said would have enjoyed more historic information on the home and individual.

This one wasn’t for us. Yes, it has art but the labels for the pieces were few and far between. Yes, it had furniture, but is this how it was when they lived here? Some more storyboards or an audio tour would help. But a reasonable price and you can get a combo ticket with the nearby Villa Terrace.

We parked north of the museum in a public parking garage and walked four or five blocks to the museum with no issues. It's a very active, vibrant, and densely populated part of Milwaukee close to the university with lots of restaurants and shops. As with walking in any part of any city, being aware of your surroundings is your best defense.
Although we do not have an official gift shop, we will indeed be selling items (books, tea towels, magnets, etc.) related to the "Dressing the Abbey" exhibition.
The museum does not have designated onsite parking. Street parking is available, but can be limited due to the densely populated area. Please be aware of posted city parking regulations.
Our official address is Prospect Ave, however, our entrance is on Royall Place, through the circle drive. Hope that helps!
Yes! There is literature about both the current exhibit and the permanent collection. All the rooms are open for viewing.
