Great service, caring staff! We were a bit skeptical about the process bit we went for it. They matched us with one of the sweetest dogs that was ment to be part of our family. Thank you!

They have had a friends animal at their facility for a few months now. Shes called emailed and so on asking if they had her animal only to be told no each time. After another friend seen their cat at the shelter she called and they want 1000+ to get their cat back and to top it off this animal is supposed to be adopted out today!! They are unwilling to work with her on price and said this to me in response to me asking how could they charge so much and she has contacted them numerous times asking if they had her cat. First of all Your friend has been told from the beginning to come and see what we have, I have a small crew and we can not garrantee any out come. Reports are taken but we specifically tell our callers to PLEASE come and look. This person has neglected to come out to the shelter, why??? I don't understand if this pet is a much beloved pet??? The shelter can impose a return to owner fee including boarding fees. That is what the owner is facing, just like when a car gets impounded, same concept. Otherwise it will be adopted to another home. That pet has recieved daily care, food and Veterinary care while with us all this time. The Return to owner process Is different than an adoption I am not denying the fact that this cat could be hers, but if that was the case, then she should have been out at the shelter and checking every 3 days. I too have the records of such Information. It's truly sad that this person has waited so long to do something. We deal with over 100 cats on a monthly basis. She as a pet owner needed to step up. We plead with pet owners to please come and look at what is in our shelter to Confirm and get peace of mind. We never give an absolute, because we don't always know for sure. There is no further information to discuss.

Great place! Please adopt those amazing dogs or cats and give them a great life. I adopted my beautiful Jenny and I am so happy with her. She's such a sweetheart. Remember is not the dog, but the dog owner. No dog is a bad dog.

Fantastic shelter for cats! The volunteers there are extremely friendly and helpful and very loving towards the animals. The building is clean and all the animals have great areas to roam and play in. They do a good jobs socializing the cats and caring for any sick animals. It was a no-brainer when I found my cat here that I would take her home!

Yes they have areas for you go and see available dogs plus if you find one you like they have large pins 😉 n the back you can play fetch with them in or you can take them on a leash and walk them on a large circle trail behind the facility
Yes
Hi Shelley, while we are usually able to offer a low-income spay and neuter clinic, the pandemic has caused that to come to a halt. We hope to reopen it soon, however. In the meantime, I would call other agencies such as SPOT or Noah or perhaps even local area vets to see if they might have any programs up and running. Good luck!
Hello, we do typically offer low cost alterations for low income individuals. However, due to the complications brought about by COVID, we are unable to get enough time with our vets to continue to offer them. We are really hoping to get the program back up and running very soon though. Thank you for inquiring!
You wood have to contact them we got a cat and were so happy with the place
You should train a puppy while it's a puppy! 8-12 starting. With a harness and a leash. Just like a child!!
Yes, if I'm not mistaken only adults can fill out and sign off on the adoption application.
Depends on the animal.
Minimum 16, they do allow as young as 8 I believe to volunteer with a parent present and some tasks not allowed.
It's supposed to be a no kill shelter, but I have heard rumors to the contrary which saddens me, but only rumors. They take any animal. Yes, you can walk in.
If under 18 you need an adult with you to volunteer

The Humane Society of Skagit Valley does foster but to local county area. You would need to get an interview. They would appreciate your help.
They open at 11:00 am and close at 4:00 on weekends and 5:00 on weekdays.
If the microchip has your name and address and phone number on it then yes it will locate you as her owner. And most humane societys have chip reader because it is the best way to help find a owner

I know they are always looking for volunteers! If you're looking for paid employment, i would check the website.
