It really is free of charge to the veterans! What a wonderful and compassionate crew of volunteers dedicated fully to ensuring that our nation's veterans receive their day of honor.

My step dad us Vietnam veteran dying from cholangiocarcinoma. When is the next honor flight or how can I sign up. They gave him 6 to 12 months but I really would like to try to get him hoping he makes it long enough. He was exposed to agent orange

Hi Amy, We are saddened to hear of your stepfather's declining health. Because we have an extensive wait list, we are unable to get him on one of our upcoming flights. However, the Honor Flight chapter in Peoria, IL does offer priority to terminally ill veterans and accepts applications from veterans outside of their area. We hope that a family member will get you to and from Midway We have had veterans with no family in the are to help and we work with the veterans to find another way to get there. Perhaps another veteran family in the area or one of our volunteers.

I was told l qualify for the flight, l served 1961 to 1965 in the Air Force , but l did not see combat. I was stationed on a radar site in North Dakota under Air Defense command. I don't think l am worth to go because l didn't fight

It takes more than front line soldiers to win a war. Overseas deployment is not a requirement to fly with Honor Flight Chicago.

Honor Flight Chicago hasnt started flying Vietnam Vets yet, they're currently still just doing WWII and Korean vets. (I'm a volunteer)
