Dr D and her son have been such great help to our daughter and us as parents. They are passionate about teaching and helping kids to not struggle in school. My daughter has improved a lot within the last few months we've enrolled her. We could not thank both Dr D and her son and everyone at Gideon enough! Thank you for your help!!

My son has dyslexia and STAAR tests were a challenge for him to score in range with the campus (which tends to perform higher than district and state), district, and state averages. Even math, which he is good at, can be difficult with dyslexia when there are word problems involved. While he passed previously, it was challenging--until this year, after spending the entire school year with Gideon. This year, his scores exceed his high-performing campus averages, and he now even "masters" reading--with dyslexia. Of course, he has support at school too, but we believe the extra effort at Gideon made a big impact on his performance and confidence.

We love Gideon!!!!! We've seen extraordinary progress in a short time as a result of our daughter's tutoring. Darin and Dr. Derita are wonderful and they truly know and care about each child.

During the free placement evaluation, we will find a 'just right' point in the Gideon curriculum based on what skills your student shows as mastered in order to fill any holes and gaps in his foundation. Our goal is to build confidence through mastery with progress right from the start to encourage focus and concentration.

How many times a week will my student come to the center and for how long is each visit?

Most students attend twice a week for center visits and complete Gideon assignments at home the other days. However, you can come once a week or request extra classes for an additional fee. Each center visit is typically 20 - 30 minutes per subject to do individual daily assignments, complete any old corrections, and review new material. A Gideon instructor will be at the table with the students to assist as needed. We maintain a 2:1 student to teacher ratio for Young Learners (aged 4-8) or 4:1 ratio for Independent Learners (aged 9 and up).
