This shelter is a kill shelter.Told us to turn loose 5 kittens on the street or they just put them down. These are not my kittens.Needs a new shelter not thus one.why do we pay tax s and donations for.Why do we have a shelter for.So heartless people They said there is no such thing as a no kill shelter.

The simple fact I don't like about this shelter is that they open real late and they leave early so every time you do try to get ahold of them when you see an animal out in the street it's hard to get somebody that's only thing I don't like about this place is there time

This shelter is just terrible. My dogs got out and we’re picked up by animal control and I was literally here to get my dogs at 4:36 and they said I had to get them before 4:30. 6 minutes late and they wouldn’t let em take my dogs home. I come to get them today and they’re filthy, they threw their collars away and told me I couldn’t have them back. This place is horrible and the dogs they have here are kept in horrible conditions. I wouldn’t recommend getting a pet from this shelter what so ever.

The staff here is very professional because sadly my dog name Luna kept jumping over our fence we couldn’t take care of her and we drop her of there they Took her with calm ness and didn’t heart her.

Yes, you must be a resident of the city of Balch Springs, and able to provide proof of residency, to bring animals into our shelter for surrender.
They do take strays and they open at 10 a.m. monday - friday
No
I don't think so. Check the SPCA of Texas.
No dog is free. There are always medical bills that go along with them. They need monthly prevention and yearly vaccines. These dogs come already spayed or neutered. They also have age appropriate vaccines and a microchip. These services cost more than the adoption fee.
You will need to call the shelter or go up there and look. If no one answers the phone, then call again. There are only two employees there and they are always extremely busy.
No this is a city shelter. They try their hardest to not euthanize any animal but sometimes it is the only option. Examples: animals too aggressive to handle or a pet suffering from a disease that can't be cured. They do work with rescues all over the country to help the pets in their care have a successful future.
Go take a look. It varies by day.
I would think so
