Jim and Dena are AMAZING... if your the property owner. If your renting... RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN! We had issues where Dena would not call someone to clean up a cactus that fell which caused our elderly neighbor extreme distress because she could not get out of her driveway for over a day. Her husband just passed recently and she was extremely distraught and event tried contacting Keyrenter but she said nobody would help her. Dena finally sent someone but complained about it. That was just one such story where they don't respond. The other side of the stick is they'll schedule service and not tell you about it. We had water mitigation scheduled without our knowledge and caused a delay in out-of-town plans because they showed up un-announced. Then, they respond but are rude. We had an issue where a water pipe broke after hours and a plumber needed to be called. Jim thought he was calling the plumber but instead called me and basically cussed me out over the phone. When I told him I'm the tenant he just said to give the plumber his number. The plumber refused to call him after he heard what Jim said to me and instead reduced the fee to $300 flat so they didn't need to go through approval (anything over $300 required landlord approval). Jim/Dena ended up charging us for "yard cleanup" of $700 but never provided an itemized invoice. Just a paper with a total. But when we looked there were still weeds in the front and back yard. We submitted a BBB claim but gave up because Jim was delayed in every response and the BBB basically because an intermediary. Jim/Dena would not do anything to rectify so I dismissed the claim because it wasn't worth it and the BBB can't force them to rectify. It was pointless and a waste of time, but I do believe in the power of reviews. Overall, I've rented plenty of places and these people are horrible. We painted and had upgrades installed knowing we wouldn't get money back because it's listed in the lease (please read it before signing, it's not the same as any other I've ever seen). After we moved out, they advertised our 4 year old paint as "new", installed new carpet (which we asked for but never got), and then they raised the rent by $800. This company is a franchise so there's your first clue to walk away. Then there's Jim/Dena who can't be professional and will basically lie to your face. I had to go to an email-only communication so I could hold them to their word, which I would HIGHLY recommend anyone that deals with these people do. The housing market is leaning more towards renters now so shop around. And if there is absolutely no other property around, get a motel room. Whatever you do... don't rent from Jim/Dena at keyrenter. EVER. you have been warned....

I am not the type of person to write a negative review for any business, but I feel that it is my responsibility to tell future RENTERS TO BE AWARE!!!!! We lived in a Keyrenter Premier managed property for the past 4 years and it was the worst renting experience of our lives. We feel taken advantage of and completely disrespected by the company and its associates, as well as the homeowner. During the first 3 years when items in the house ceased to function we were talked down to and interrogated prior to the company taking any type of action and we let it slide without complaint. During the 4th year of our lease we had a major bug infestation that was left untreated for days while we were waiting it out. Shortly after we began having issues with our landscaping. Instead of hiring a new company Keyrenter decided to cancel the service and we were left without landscaping for multiple months, although we were left paying for it during the lapse. We asked to extend our lease by another year, but Keyrenter lied to us and said the owner was moving back in-a couple days after our move out the property had been relisted for an additional $1000 per month, which ultimately is for the best. At the end of our lease we were ready to just move on and be done with this whole nightmare so we deep cleaned everything to ensure we left the home in better condition than when we moved in so that we could get our security deposit back. During our move out inspection Keyrenter assured us we would get our full security deposit back, but then still charged us for items that had been replaced by us or were not listed on our move out instructions. We forgot to replace a lightbulb, which we would happily have paid for and was an honest mistake. This company lacks human decency needed to effectively run and manage a successful business. After each issue we have brought to light Keyrenter continues to reflect blame on the owner of the house, but refuses to take action. We are completely shocked by this experience and want to make sure that future renters know what they are getting themselves into. Keyrenter will prioritize the homeowner no matter what-even if it means overriding the renter of the property at any cost. We are honestly just deeply saddened by this experience and we will never rent through a property management company in the future. 9259 E Hillery Way specifically had a myriad of additional issues that I have not listed on this review.
