The medical team explained my incurable cancer and the available treatments with compassion and expertise -they taught me how to understand my cancer and progress to remission. The treatment was rough but I recovered in remission! The staff is positive and uplifting - always supportive! The facilities & equipment are first class. I highly recommend SCCA/Fred Hutch for Multiple Myeloma patients!

I am a combat veteran with service-connected cancer. My treatment is 100% covered and I am in dire need of help as my cancer has resulted in a pleural effusion that is collapsing my lungs. SCCA is much more concerned with acquiring pre-approval than with providing me with the care that I urgently need. I am currently communicating with my congressman and anyone else who will listen, but in the meantime, pre-approval is more important than my life apparently.

Had to have a follow up on a mammogram and was very scared. The staff was efficient, friendly, and professional. They explained each step before and during procedure. They were easy to talk to, answering all my questions.

Very disappointed. I became ill over a year ago in Chicago. I received partial care when an eventual MRI revealed enlarged lymph nodes in my lower extremities. A subsequent biopsy came back reactive. After relocating to the Seattle area the PCP I chose was ill equipped to deal with my health issues. She told me I was fine; I knew I wasn't. So I reached out to SCCA in hope that a cancer hospital could locate and diagnose my cancer. Despite my older brother dying of lung cancer at age 40 nobody had looked at my upper body. Another round of CT scans and chest x-ray (insurance wouldn't cover chest CT). Some of the findings were concerning to me, especially in my chest and back. They weren't concerning to my provider. Her recommendation is to re-biopsy the same lymph node that came back reactive a year ago. They don't perform a physical. They don't do any tests or take any measures to rule out specific cancers. They don't return any phone calls or respond to any messages. At this point I'm resigned to taking pain killers until I die.

There are a number of close eateries close to the SCCA. Head west to the bottom of the hill to find Dukes, chandlers, I love Sushi and a Mexican place. For a short walk into amazonland to the south of lake union you can find a lot of food places. The SCCA has its own cafeteria and the Hutch next door has two which are publicly available.
It depends on what kind of treatment you had! Please call your oncologist or nurse - they will have the answer!

Yes theirs a medical container on the 5th floor where the pharmacy is you can dispose of it there.
Drs aren't miracle workers they can only do so much. Sorry for your loss.
Yes you can I go to all my wife's appointments with her
SCCA has an excellent record on treating cancer, I believe you have to be first diagnosed and then referred to them for treatment. Call them, they have qualified admission staff to walk you thru the process and possibly refer you to a diagnosis physician. I helped my wife go thru this process, they have been very helpful.
What does that mean
She has had surgery to remove adnexal carcinoma from her cheek didn't get it all
She's feeling ok
SCCA is like a cling but it's a hospital a lot of Med care are out patients.
I am sorry, I am not from Seattle, I would just have to Google. There is a patient and family resource center on the 3rd floor that can help. I am really sorry your family is going through this.
I don't know. I had let my dogs at home in Graham.
You can use SCCA's online bill pay. I think there's all link on their website to sign up and pay.
There are many. Mine is Dr Bart Scott
Last time I had one (that insurance partially paid) was $4,000.
The Pete Gross house is also an option, plus SCCA provides transportation to and from the places that lunchfoot and I mentioned.
Seattle Cancer Care Alliance is part of Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center as well as UW Medical Center, Children's Hospital & Harborview.
