It has been a week since Donald and I shared an unbelievable experience at the Legends Ranch, Michigan. Don and eight other Purple Heart recipients (3 from Vietnam and 6 from Iraq and Afghanistan) were invited to participate in the Purple Heart Deer Hunt at Legends Ranch. I must admit that I was humbled in the presence of these warriors, all still carry the effects of their wounds on a daily basis, chronic pain and in some cases devastating wounds. It was an honor to spend a week with them and the staff from Legends who aided them in their hunts. Want to thank Rob, Wess, Randy, Ted, Kevin, Blake, Pam, and others for your great service. also, Donald got his buck, 16 points and 242 pounds. As we approach the 20th Anniversary of 9/11, a special thanks to all our warriors and a very special thanks to our own warrior for his 20 years of military service and numerous sacrifices. NOTE: I second Joe’s comments from previous post, what a great facility.

I had the honor of attending the 2021 Purple Heart hunt at Legends Ranch! There isn’t enough good things to say about the place and people!! From the time you drive onto the ranch, you’re treated like family! Every single person is so nice, and wants to make sure you have everything you need! The property is absolutely beautiful and unbelievable! The guides are also top notch! Wess, Randy, Corey, George, Blake, and everyone else I forgot! They ALL go above and beyond to ensure your every need is taken care of, and they WILL put you on the deer of your dreams!! If you’re looking for a place to hunt, look no further! This place should be on everyone’s bucket list!!

We had a family reunion and 90th birthday party at Legends Ranch. We loved everything! The staff, food and accomodations were exceptional! We felt like we had the "run" of the lodge while also feeling pampered and cared for! The chef was very helpful and professional and the food was delicious. We loved using the kayaks, playing outdoor games and just sitting around watching the swans, deer and bald eagle during our weekend stay. Thank you Pam, August, and Chef Jason for making our stay so memorable!

Great place. Lodging is very nice and cozy. Food is exceptional! Plenty of deer to see. It was a very relaxing trip. I’ve been there about 4 times and it keeps getting better every year!
