Lenscrafters at Scottsdale Quarter; now that is the store to go to when you are shopping for glasses. We took my mother who is 90 years old today to pick up a pair of prescription glasses. we all know what kind of stress one goes through when coming to make such decision. LUCKILY she was attended to by this amazing guy AARON RODRIGUEZ. He was not only very welcoming, but also honest in his opinion, patient, and courteous to her and to me. Thanks to him, we found a very beautiful pair of Red Coach glasses that she loved. I can never be thankful enough to him or Lenscrafters team except by sharing this amazing experience with other people. Aaron, Five Stars are not enough for you, you deserve More. Thanks again R.Doss

Dr. Benkel was excellent! I had this exam as a follow-up to an eye exam completed at another Doctor's office in Feb of 2022. When I had my glasses made I couldn't see anything - blurring! Dr. Benkel was able to identify the reason and provide me with a new prescription that allows me to see clearly when using my laptop and another for everyday where. I finally got a diagnosis of astigmatism, now I know I'm not crazy that my vision is always blurry!

Questions & Answers

Do you take either United Healthcare or Cigna for insurance?

Juli Vosmik | Nov 5, 2019
Clairee Hurley | Nov 5, 2019

That's a kinda complicated question as neither company covers vision "in house." They both subcontract vision benefits to another company. I would advise double checking who your vision insurance carrier is and then calling the office.

Do you have an optomotrist at or near your store?

Yes! Dr Thomas and Dr Benkel both work at this location and have appointments available 7 days a week.

What should I bring to my eye exam?

LensCrafters | Nov 4, 2021
LensCrafters | Nov 4, 2021

You should bring your vision insurance and medical insurance information to your eye exam. If you currently wear any prescription lenses, bring your eyeglasses, sunglasses, and contact lenses. You should also bring any and all questions you may have. Contact your optometrist if you have specific questions about any additional items you think you may need to bring to your eye exam.

Why should I get an eye exam?

LensCrafters | Nov 4, 2021

An annual eye exam involves more than just updating your glasses or contact prescription. A comprehensive eye exam can also detect eye health issues as well as general health problems. Conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure can be detected in early stages through an eye exam, and this can result in early treatment. Schedule your annual eye exam today.

What is the difference between an eye exam and a vision screening?

LensCrafters | Nov 4, 2021
LensCrafters | Nov 4, 2021

A comprehensive eye exam is administered by an optometrist and can detect not only vision problems but problems with eye health and general health as well. A vision screening is typically performed by a general medical practitioner such as a pediatrician or a nurse. While a vision screening can help identify vision issues, it can miss many important issues that a comprehensive eye exam can identify. This is why everyone is encouraged to get annual eye exams. Schedule your eye exam today!

Is a contact lens exam different than an eye exam?

LensCrafters | Nov 4, 2021
LensCrafters | Nov 4, 2021

A normal, comprehensive eye exam will allow your optometrist to determine if your eyes are healthy enough to wear contact lenses. During your contact lens fitting, detailed measurements of your eyes will be taken to determine the right contact lenses for you. There is an additional fee for a contact lens fitting and evaluation for all contact lens patients (both new and established patients). Schedule your eye exam today to have all of your questions about contact lenses answered.

How do I know if my child needs glasses?

LensCrafters | Nov 4, 2021
LensCrafters | Nov 4, 2021

Taking your child to an optometrist for an eye exam is the best way to learn if your child needs glasses. Many children who need glasses aren’t aware that they do. Signs of vision problems in children include sitting too close to the television, squinting, sensitivity to light, difficulty with eye-hand coordination, and avoiding visual activities like reading and drawing. To see if your child needs glasses, schedule your child’s eye exam today.

So you have prescriptions glasses ready same day or next day?

Jorge Rocha | Nov 5, 2019
Clairee DeBoise | Nov 5, 2019

It's kinda a complicated answer. There is an in house lab which can make glasses quickly, but it only stocks the most basic lenses available. Not all coatings, prescriptions, or materials can be made there. Most orders are sent to a national lab and have a 3-10 day turn around. Also the on location lab isn't staffed all day everyday so I recommend calling before heading over.
