The teaching is awesome, not a fancy fake feel good church but the Ruach is alive and well here. Very good, this is what many more need to find. This is why I left the Sunday church. I am concerned about the church over the past few years they have gone downhill, but truly they do a lot of good work overseas for orphanages and humanitarian aid, this I know about them but the church culture in this country here is going downhill, the youth love going to other countries to help other people but there are poor and hurting people here many just ignore, people just go on with their lives and ignore homeless people, their neighbors living in poverty, the teaching is less scripture and more just inspirational stories, they do not talk about issues Christians should know about such as the homosexual agenda or babies being murdered at planned parenthood, they only talk about the people want to hear. the church is supposed to change the world but this world has changed the church!!! They reference popular media and culture to reach the people, and the music is more feel good like a rock concert instead of traditional music, I feel as though using worldly influences to bring people to church is not going to have them stay to hear the Word and worship, but many people only come for the music and coffee vibe, if they are not building their house on a firm foundation, but just picking pieces they like, that is not true worship, and some of the people, many of the women dress in more like they are going to the mall or the gym and not a house of worship and fellowship but what I found through this group, Son of David, in Chandler at City light church has very good teaching on Saturday from 10 to 1. They are closed the third Saturday of every month though.

There's some places in the area that talk about living like messiah, but instead come across as fake , culty, spiritually oppressive... Son of David is different. I appreciate the genuine people and teachings.

An awesome worship time, super friendly, loving people where I feel very connected. The leader is a very blessed Messianic teacher who teaches the entire Bible from a Hebraic view point.

Hi Fred, thanks for reaching out. Context is crucial when discussing any passage of scripture. Son of David holds that all scripture is inspired - as Paul teaches Timothy. (2 Tim 3:16) The trick for us is to rightly divide the Word of God. This passage is declaring the starting point for new Gentile believers in the Messiah to begin walking in righteousness. Notice the preceding verse gives us the context; "For Moses from ancient generations has in every city those who preach him, since he is read in the synagogues every Sabbath." The Jerusalem Council expected new converts to be learning about God by hearing His words when they attended the congregation on the Sabbath Day. It is also valuable to note that Three of the prohibitions that James - a Messianic Jew - addressed revolved around the food laws of the First Century. The bottom line is that these four prohibitions were a starting point for new Gentile believers to come into fellowship. Please reach out with any more questions
