Had the delightful pleasure of seeing The Squirrel Nut Zippers perform in this sweet little theater in November. Built in 1929 and remodeled in 1935, it sits in the historic Houston Heights. It is an intimate venue for world class performances. Parking is on the street, and if you're early enough, you might get a spot right in front of the theater. There are eateries nearby; and, galleries and boutiques for window gazing before the show starts.

I love this theatre. So intimate and the acoustics are great. Wonderful experience and within walking distance to eateries and shops.

As a native Houstonian, I’m embarrassed to say this was my first time here. I attended the Gin Blossoms concert last night and was so glad I did. Beautiful historic venue. Great acoustics. Seating in balcony for a higher price, as well as early entry for VIP’s with signed posters from the band plus a practice session with the band- the best part! Steve, the head honcho, has a gruff exterior but was actually very nice. Trevor was fantastically helpful as was Justin. Doors did not open at 5 as advertised but 5:30 or so, VIP’s ($134 per ticket) were allowed entry. At 6, the rest of the folks were admitted into lobby. At 7, General Admission ($34) were admitted in to theater. Back up band started at 8 and Gin Blossoms at 9. They played for an hour and a half with a 2 song encore. There are a few highly coveted tall barstools at the back near the sound engineers/boards. The rest is SRO. $12 wine at bar but it was a nice Sauv Blanc and it is the Heights, so to be expected. Parking is limited so arrive early and check out the cool shops on 19th! Old school etiquette here, listen to the music, be civil, don’t block people’s view or try to weasel in front of folks who’ve been standing for two hours when you arrive at 9.

Amateur hour here. I bought tickets to a show. An hour before the show. "Sorry, here is a refund. We didn't mean to list these for sale on our website." Was halfway there.

Street parking but I've never had a problem finding a spot.
Great parking in the neighborhood. No problem.
The last show I was at, which was a couple of weeks ago, there was no mask or social distancing enforcement. That being said, almost everyone attending was masked at all times. People kept somewhat apart in the lobby but were sitting basically shoulder to shoulder in the concert area.
I don't know from what I've heard a lot of things are being cancelled or postponed I would contact the theater itself and check with them
That I do not know I was there to see lost dog Street band play the only thing I purchased while I was there was a couple of beers and some stuff from the merch booth
There is plenty of street parking up and down the street in front of the venue as well as around the corners. Lots of well lit and free spots to be had!
They are basically hard chairs. Chairs in the balcony are old, but have padding!
Email the venue directly.
Such a cool place... can't bring drinks or food in...but staff are nice
Cuz you miss a show you are responsible for selling your own tickets at this venue or any other
Looks like both, pal. Matt's opening for Band of Heathens. Opener starts at 8, I'd bet BOH goes on at 9.
The venue can accommodate 125 to 500 guests, depending on the room layout.
Advance tickets are purchased through website, or the night of the show, in person, if any are available. Can't avoid the fees, they are part of the cost of the tickets.
Definitely depends on the night and your ticket!
I usually eat nearby before the show. Have never tried their kitchen.
The tables up front are reserved, the chairs in back of first level and seats upstairs are not assigned. I've been to 2 shows with unassigned seats and it's not the headache I thought it was going to be. I would get there early if you want prime seating
Yes, with your name
It depends on the show. Look at their website
