Weekly knitting group has a gatekeeping issue and is extremely gossip-y, which is encouraged by employees. Yarn selection is different from other local stores, so 2 stars, but shopping online literally anywhere would be better considering where your money might be going.

Looks super cute through the windows and locked door.. For those of you, like me, who drive 4 hours to go to this store since you don't have a decent LYS within hours of you, don't come on Monday. Apparently they are closed Mondays through August... guess I will head back to the car and drive the 4 hour journey back home. Maybe next time.

A great place to buy yarn and supplies as well as sit and knit with help and tips from the friendly staff

This is such an amazing place! Wonderful selection of yarn, most of which is from indie dyers. Also has a variety of project/notion bags and accessories for the knitter and/or crocheter. Embroidery and cross stitch kits, as well as journals and a pocket sized watercolor set make this a great place to buy some gifts for friends! Comfy chairs and several sitting areas make this a cozy place to stay and work on a project. Locally handspun yarn is now available, as well as knitting classes.

Questions & Answers

Does Idaho have any yarn conventions

No official conventions that I am aware of. There are several fiber related retreats and events in or near the Boise area throughout the year. There are some facebook groups you can join that will keep you updated when events are coming up. Fiber.Love.Retreat. Trailing of the sheep, Fiber Frolic, to name a few... I'm sure there are more if you do a bit of research.
