I would not recommend this agency. I applied online and they responded and I was set up to meet me them in person. I was thrilled and arrived perfectly on time but I had to wait for over 30 minutes while the “scout” was chatting with his friend on the phone. He shot my digitals and took my measurements. He seemed to have loved my look and kept complimenting me. I left the meeting thinking for sure I was going to get signed. Two weeks later, I got an email with a message saying “i’m sorry but you’re not the right fit for our agency”. Not only was I heart broken, but I was left with no explanation as to why I was not signed. I have model measurements and have been scouted by several different agencies so I’m very confused as to why I wasn’t signed. Overall, it was totally unprofessional and a total waste of time. The agency was over a 2 hour drive from my house so not only did I waste gas, but I also had to buy an outfit for the interview which cost me about $100.

My friend, who is an internationally published model already signed with another agency, reached out to be represented by these people since her other agency is closing down. She was rejected by SMG for only one reason: she did not meet their height requirement. Stop promoting these “beauty” standards. Just another agency looking for a standard “look” rather than actual talent. EDIT: Thank you for responding. While I can understand the part about my friend standing out somewhere else, if people truly cared about promoting every body and mind type, there should be agencies pushing the standard. I've seen great progress in this. My friend is also an LGBT+ model and has always pushed boundaries in general with her previous agency; who also wouldn't take these types of models at first. Anything is possible.

I’ve submitted an application on behalf of my toddler on two occasions. I have not been provided with any acknowledgement as to whether or not her application has been received, which I find extremely discourteous and unprofessional. Acknowledging receipt and providing a potential client with expected timeframes would be helpful in managing a potential client’s expectations.

I submitted both of my toddler daughters applications online a year or so ago... I ended up getting an email from one of the scouts claiming interest in one of my daughters. She wanted to set up an interview after the first of the year and said she'd be in touch. A month went by and I never heard anything so I decided to email her... never got a response. Emailed 2 more times just in case I was getting lost in the bulk and still never heard from her again. It was disappointing to get my hopes up and I'm not sure why she bothered to email me in the first place if she wasn't genuinely interested in meeting with us. Not the experience I expected from such a high reputation company.
