Pity Pity

I've been to a bunch of vets around the valley. This is the only location where the doctor takes the time to explain what he did and why it was important and what we should do in the future. We got in quickly and did not feel rushed when speaking with the doctor. Everyone in the office was very caring and helpful. I never felt like they were a suggesting unnecessary test like some other offices.

I felt so welcomed and trusted this facility, until yesterday when I had to make the hard decision many pet owners have to make. Whoever MIKAYLA is, she made that day much much much harder than it already was. I am so hurt. Thank you to all Involved for my other baby, Angel. I choose your facility for her care up till her last day. Bentley Palsgrove has been declining for awhile. He was almost 14 after all.... August 29, I took him to the vet to see if they could do anything for his idiopathic vestibular disease. We already knew Bentley was a hospice status before that vet visit. MECLIZINE HELPED !!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH DR ALEX. This last week, Bentley declined significantly. especially the last 2 days. I knew it was the day when he stopped eating ( he loved food, and I made him home cooked meals, anything he wanted), he had no interest in anything, he was in pain. He became so skinny, fast. He had that smell that I have only ever smelled on dying dogs and cats...... My baby was dying and I had to make that hard decision to let him be free of his suffering. I called Henderson Animal Hospital. Mikayla answered. After explaining what was going on, she replied with attitude " Well, we haven't seen him in a month so you're going to need a end of life exam. Our appointment book is full. We have openings Friday at 2" It was a Wednesday, September 7th. I was shocked by the attitude in her voice and lack of empathy. I explained that he was suffering. She didn't even put me on hold to even try to find a way. She made me feel very judged for asking them to end my dogs pain and suffering... I understand the Vet has to be the one to decide..... but he knew Bentley and I wish I could have talk to HIM and not that Mikayla lady. I called Black mountain and they had me on hold for over 15 minutes while they tried and let me tell you they had so much empathy over the phone when they couldn't schedule me in due to 3 other euthanasia's and an emergency on top of a full waiting room. They then gave me phone numbers to vet clinics that could possibly help. They treated me with kindness. I was thankful that they put me on hold to at least try to figure out something. I ended up going to Cadence Animal Hospital. They were wonderful.... We sat on the floor, I sang to him while they put my beautiful boy to rest. It was a horrible day...... Also, she called back about an hour later in a cheerful voice to tell us that his medicine refill wasready. . A few minutes after he was transitioned... how could you do that to someone???????? I was so deeply hurt by the way she treated me over the phone when I called for help. Even if the answer was no, she could've at least pretended to care a little bit. I cried so much harder after that call. I will remember this forever. Thank you to all the staff except Mikayla- I hope nobody ever has to feel the way you made me feel during an already traumatic time. Shame on you.. Rest in peace Bentley, my beautiful boy.
