Excellent place, help always available, well organized.

I have been at this address for almost 5 yrs. Took me MONTHS to get pick up in the 1st place & has been a struggle ever since. Placed it where the pickup drivers wanted it. Since I have gone to extremes to make it visible & easy access. Still it gets missed 4 out of 6 times. Nothing but calling in repeatedly gets it done.

I frequently go there at least once or twice a month to take a car load of my recycling ♻️ materials

Yes, we recycle TVs that are not working. All TVs and computer screens cost $10 to drop off, payable in check or money order made out to the City of Joplin. We cannot accept cash or card.
Nope
Yes, they take plastic bottles. They’ll request that the tops are taken off, so it’s best to do that in advance.
Maybe on hazmat collection day. The website should have more info.
Yes if the freon is removed
Yes, they do.
There isn't a specific place for them, so I expect that they do not, but it may be worth giving them a call before you head to the dump.
No
No they do not but they take almost everything else like cardboard and glass and papers and newspapers and magazines and books and metal products like pop cans and metal fruit cans or vegetable cans and egg cartons
12th and iowa
We do not buy metals or any recyclables, but we accept metals for recycling at no cost.
I believe they do #1, 2, 5, and 10 (5 and 10 in a separate bin).
I drop off my plastic bottles (without lids). No money.
They do but I think they charge so much for disposable
Not sure call them, better possibility is the Restore store on main st. For Habitat for Humanity. Call them.

I believe they do tire recycling once a year
No
No you don't get paid for bottles and aluminum.
No. You would need to go to a scrap yard for that. There are a few in the area
Only certain times during the year when they have their tire drop off event
As far as I know, anytime they are open. FYI, also, they do charge a fee for TVs. (I'm not sure if there are any other fees for other types of electronics.) Hope this helps.
Yes, however I am not sure if there is a small charge or not regarding copiers.
Dav, red racks or salvation army will take them.
No but the city is opening up their tree limb and debris location for these type of dropoffs.
Yes. There is a 10 dollar on site charge for computer monitors, televisions and microwaves. Check or money order made out to the City of Joplin. The recycling company requires a $20 dollar charge per unit, but the City of Joplin matches the area people doing the right thing when recycling. So they only charge $10 to the public at this location.
Yes, as long as you bring something to put it in. Drop by during normal business hours. They are open Tuesday at noon through 6 p.m. next... be sure to ask one of the attendees before doing so.
No we dont take prescription meds, however the police station at 34th and S Main as well as the main offices for the Police at 3rd and Pennsylvania have drop boxes for prescription medications. As far as bottles, you are more than welcome to bring empty bottles to the center, however they will be placed in a bag seperate from the main compactor for plastics. That type of plastic will be transported seperately to a different site.
Try salvation army or watered gardens
Yes. For a 10 dollar charge via check or money order made out to the "City Of Joplin"
No, it is a free/self serve facility.
They will not take liquid paint
No only recyclable materials.
Based on how they sort things, if it is made of metal, probably yes. Otherwise, probably no. Worth checking with them directly.
Not accepted at this facility
They took mine about three months ago, and I watched them take an old window unit air conditioner yesterday. So most likely the answer is yes. It goes into or next to the 'other metals' bin.
They take metal cans and aluminum cans. Unsure if any other kind of metals
No. Sorry
City of Joplin doesn't pay you for aluminum, have to go elsewhere to sell it.
Better to say what can: aluminum, other metals, office paper, newspaper, cardboard, plastic bottles of #1 or #2 plastic with necks, unbroken glass jars and bottles, egg cartons. You can also drop off larger electronics like TVs and such, but those have a fee. For more/updated information, check the city website.
Not on site. However if you have yard debris, such as lawn clippings and leaves, they can be taken to be composted at the Turkey Creek Wastewater Plant. The address is 3457 W. Eddy Ln, Joplin, MO 64801. The compost lanes will be on the left-hand side before you get to the main drive for the offices. If you know compost, you can't miss it. Please no bags, trash or large debris. Must be ready to compost on site.
They don't pay for metal - try CMC Recycling or similar in Joplin. Copper and other metal prices are still recovering.
Not regularly, but will advertise once or twice a year a program where you can drop off a certain amount of tires for free. That will be advertised on the local news, radio and Joplin Globe.
They have a limited staff which is comprised of volunteers.
