Sounds like you aren't comparing apples to apples. Police or accident is more money.
Not more expensive. If your car was involved in an accident or ordered towed by Sheriff everyone's rate is higher because of the response time and circumstances. Most often there is much more to deal with when towing for law enforcment than a simple tow.
