When I ended my service, they told me that I did not put down a deposit, however i did.

I’ve had them for 3 years now. I do the prepaid which I wouldn’t recommend. I’m paying 150 a week which evens out to 600 a month. I am paying 20-24 a day which is ridiculous, sometimes even more. They price gouge terribly. Yes they worked with you during Covid but are very incentive now. I was on hold trying to pay my bill for 30 minutes once and they disconnected and I had to pay almost 60 to get back on. I used electric heaters last year because my heat did not work and didn’t pay as much as I do now. They swear I would pay more monthly but I’m already paying 600 or more a month so I highly doubt that. I wouldn’t use them if I had other options. But unfortunately I don’t.

We have been a customer for at least 15 years personally, and I have never been what I would call impressed. They do a good job, but they don’t go above and beyond in any way. They won’t necessarily say no, but they don’t offer a hand up either. I have also been a customer of their competitor for 22 years on/off, and most recently...concurrently. We recently got behind on a few things, and while BGE was only emailed once, I never contacted their competitor. The email basically asked me to call during business hours to discuss reconnection, and I haven’t. (This review is prior to the call being made today by my partner, however relevant to business.) With BGE, our electric was disconnected after non-payment of two consecutive months. Shortly after, our deposit was applied and sent a final bill. With BGE’s competitor, I was 3 months past due before able to make a payment. I am not saying BGE would not help me, had I called, but the competitor never disconnected service. I assume I will have to start service as new customer now with BGE. Paying the amount due AND the deposit AND reconnect fees. I get it, my fault...but I just paid the competitor today for 3 months plus late fees. That’s all. Hope this offers some insight to the business’ marketing and operations department. Also, the price of electric where we spend most of our time is half that of BGE, where we only run heat and water heater...necessities. The prices of RECC companies are outrageous!!
