We took two preschool age children. They played at the playground. We went on a nature walk, relaxed and had a snack at a picnic table and played on the open soccer fields. We all enjoyed our experience.

My son had a soccer game here and the soccer field was absolutely horrendous to say the least it was not flat whatsoever and all of the players from both teams kept falling due to all of the bumps and Hill on the field. I would not recommend for playing soccer. Also the restrooms was very far away and was out of all toilet paper and was not clean or sanitary whatsoever.

We also have a native prairie and wildlife viewing area, and children’s garden attached to the playground. There is also a substantial butterfly garden that’s great to visit in summer. The Arboretum has about 40 plant collection areas, spread out on over 2 miles of paved walking paths and 1/2 mile of woodland mulched paths.
There are various kinds of milkweed. Common Milkweed is challenging. Check out YouTube videos. Other types of milkweed are avaliable at Natorp. Checkout advertised native plant sellers as well.
We do not have a holiday light display for 2020.
You are, on the back loop it is a little over a mile, the trail that connects to it is roughly about a mile long. So if you park by the ball fields and go out, do the back loop and come back, its a little over 3.3 miles
