Had a plumber who's a friend of mine come look at my house because my basement is filling with let's call it "waste" water. I'd attach the photos I've been taking but that wouldn't be tasteful. Now this plumber friend of mine, looked with a camera down the manhole and determined that it was saturated with paper and goop. Called MSD Friday the 7th. and they sent a team out, who promptly stepped out of the truck, walked up the street, never checking the area where the camera found the clog, walked back to their truck handed me a pamphlet and told me to contact them and maybe they'll look at it Monday. Its 3 am on Sunday and I'm cleaning up human feces for the 4th time since Friday and I can't flush my toilet more than once every 6 hours or it backs up all over my bathroom floor! Keep up the "waste" work! MSD Sincerely a person who will go back to what we did before public sewers existed. Norovirus Street, 45219.

The new plant basin constructed at Rapid Run Park has converted an eye sore into a beautiful area with shrubs and flowers encircled by rock. It sets your mood into calmness and tranquility. Very nicely done!

Jeff G promptly came to my house when I called in a backup, he was extremely polite and helpful. He showed me the cause of the problem and helped walk me through the next steps. Nothing we can do about the rain water overflow in the sewers but the response from MSD has always been great. Thanks for the excellent service!

http://sbu.msdgc.org/sbu/page/3-Learn-about-Backups.aspx Property owners are responsible for keeping the entire length of a building sewer clear of clogs and blockages. If a building sewer becomes clogged or blocked (e.g., tree roots, diapers, grease), the property owner is responsible for clearing out the pipe. Property owners are also responsible for repairing any broken or collapsed portion of the building sewer that is located on private property. MSD cannot fix a broken building sewer pipe on private property. MSD is responsible for fixing broken or collapsed private building sewers if the broken section is located within the public right-of-way (e.g., beneath the sidewalk or street). MSD does not typically reimburse property owners for plumber’s invoices, regardless of the plumber’s determination. This is in accordance with MSD Rules & Regulations Section 2008. If a customer believes there are extenuating circumstances that should be considered in their particular case, they may submit a claim to MSD, along with any relevant documentation.
