Hours are inconsistent at times on when the gates are locked. I've walked from my house off cirque to visit my daughter's grave and gates are open well unto 8pm. The one time I decide to drive my car here and visit my daughter's grave to see if the slab issue has been resolved, I'm locked in with no help from the "24hotline." I arrived roughly around 6:30pm was leaving around 7:30pm. The wife has to get to work in the morning and my son taken care of, I'm not abandoning my car with the crime rate increasing here, nor is there any help. I assumed a key would be on hand for situations like this for those mourning the death of family. Sad to also see the ways in which decorations that may hold sentimental value (figures, fencing, etc.:) are discarded, like the wind chimes for my daughter's marker- they long disappeared. It was perfectly small enough to not be disturbed, yet somehow they were discarded. Disappointed with this companys handling of many situations. This USMC combat veteran will not be buried here anytime soon.

Hi I usually don’t we reviews but the experience that my family had at new Tacoma cemetery was top we dealt with Roland I believe he is the funeral director and he was so good at what he does he took every bit of stress off of my mom and us I know a lot goes on behind the scenes he took care of it all my dad was a Navy veteran and he was not treated with the respect he deserved at kindred care hospital in Seattle I won’t going to details on that but as soon as we went there Roland took care of getting him from Seattle to here And when we met with Roland I expressed what happened and he got an American flag over my father immediately and arranged for The Navy to be there my dad had a flag draped coffin in the Navy folded the flag and presented it to my mom I was so impressed my dad finally got the respect he deserved And my family and I have the deepest gratitude thank you so much

Besides Covid-19, the past year has been very difficult as we lost both our Mom and Dad (Divorced for years). Dad passed away first in November. He was very specific about how he wanted his service including readings etc. He was a veteran, so we had to include a flag ceremony, 21 gun salute and taps. We couldn't read his hand writing at the time, so we called New Tacoma. We worked with Brad and Jim and never felt pressured or sold. They are a non-profit! I've had other horrible experiences with large funeral homes in Tacoma, and this was not the case. During the services everything was coordinated and went off without a hitch. Brad was everywhere, but he wasn't in the way. The military honor guard arrived and everything was just as Dad would have wanted! In February, my Mom passed. Her husband was buried at the other large cemetery in town. We turned to New Tacoma to handle the first part of her journey to heaven, Once again, no pressure sales and the most caring staff. Her entombment was handled by the other large cemetery in town, which I am still dealing with to date. I will soon post a review on their google profile, so look for it. Thank you New Tacoma for your professionalism, and compassion. Truly the best funeral home in Tacoma!
