Lackadaisical, condescending and nonchalant attitudes towards customers. I booked a 10 AM appointment for a diagnostic, came in 10 minutes early for checkin, got checked in. After waiting for exactly 1 hour, I asked how long more will it take for the diagnosis, at this point I realize my car is still in the parking lot! I asked: “does booking appointments for specific time matters to when a car is being worked on?” Response from pep boy: I don’t have a magic wand to fix cars! It will take couple of hours to diagnose your car, if you can’t wait, you can take your keys!!” That was his exact word!

My girlfriend and I were on a trip from Alabama to Wisconsin and got lucky enough to find a screw in our tire when we were in Joliet. This was later in the day and most shops had closed up for the day we called over to Pep Boys and although it was getting near closing time Max said bring it on in and let’s take care of you. Awesome service!

They get 2 stars for completing the alignment properly but I have to say the guy at the service desk seemed like he was bothered to be there. I told him I wanted a tire quote for my van and that I have as on 18 inch rims, even gave him the exact tire size. He argued about the size of my tires even after I explained that I'm not using the OEM rims. Then he tried to discourage me by saying if I install that size tire he'll have to report it to CarFax. What the what? Eventually he looked up tires that met my request and when I said I'd have to think about it he got pushy. Needless to say I went to Discount Tire and spent $1,100 for my tires there! Also, be aware the retail area is closed at this location. Only the service bays are open for business.
