The Nisqually State Park is very well maintained , very little trash. The trails are mainly made up of gravel walkways and forestry roads.Other than one map in the parking lot There are no signs to tell you which way the river is and which way the other trials are. Would recommend for your family, and make sure you bring plenty of water and and a light coat during the fall.Good for dogs, horses and bicycles.

Large area for picnics, but most folks come here to hike down to the river and all the trails in the forest. On one trail less traveled, we found an old car that had been decomposing for decades. Very cool discovery.

Took a nice hike down to the river. Love the bathroom and parking area addition. Saw some horses, lots of poo if your walking the trails. The park was clean, trails were nice and well kept. River was also nice to see. Down hill all the way to the river, be prepared coming back. About 6miles ish round trip to the parking lot.

Nice trail system with plenty of game trails to explore. Be aware of your surroundings. Make noise when walking the trails and learn what to do when you encounter a Black Bear. Hikers, be courteous to riders and speak to them as they approach, so their horses recognize you as human.
