Nice caring family, you can't compare this Family Business to the other big franchise Funeral Homes in the area. I was afraid of my family being taken advantage of while we were grieving our lose, still can't wrap my head on the small bill we got, which was less than half of what the big establishment was asking. Customer service was top notch we did not feel ignored.

On behalf of my family we would like to say, "Thank you" to Scott's Funeral Home and especially to Ms. Coretta. After talking on the phone from Kansas City. Missouri, she was a life saver to our family. Our son pass away on July 13, 2018. In researching several funeral homes in the area my heart was with the 1st funeral home ( the Lord led me to) that I spoke with and that was Ms. Coretta and Scott's Funeral Home. She made me feel so comfortable and at easy. She did everything we wanted her to do as far as the appearance of our beloved son. He loved the KC Chiefs and she went searching for the right urn for our beloved son. (when I saw the urn I cried so hard) She is a wonderful !!! We had some a few roadblocks but, through it all she kept us updated on it. This has been a hard journey but, through it all she made it a little easier since we were coping with our lost long distance. THANK YOU SCOTT'S FUNERAL HOME AND ESPECIALLY CORETTA! Once arrangements have been made there are several things to keep in mind. Obtain certified copies of the official death certificate from Scott Funeral Home. You may need more than one certified copy. Some organizations accept photocopies, while others, such as financial institutions, government agencies, and insurance companies require a certified copy. Locate the decedent’s Last Will and Testament. The will must be provided to the appropriate county or city office to be accepted for probate. Scott Funeral Home is here to help, contact us for assistance.
It’s always a difficult time when someone dies. We’re providing this information so that you can be familiar with what happens next, and what you can do to help the process go as quickly and as smoothly as possible. First Steps: A declaration of death from the proper authority is the first thing that is required. This can be issued by a doctor, hospice nurse or medical examiner. After the declaration, contact Scott Funeral Home and Cremation Services and we will set up a time to discuss arrangements and services. If the person was in the military or belonged to a fraternal or religious group, Scott Funeral Home and Cremation Services will contact the organization. Some groups provide benefits for members who have died, and we will help you navigate through the claims process. Call the person’s employer, if he or she was working. Request info about benefits and any pay due. Ask whether there was a life-insurance policy through the company. Visit our website for more information
