It was my first time going. Their outfits were beautiful. The young ones danced around and the older ones mostly stepped. The souvenirs were lovely too. Unfortunately I couldn't purchase them. But you could tell they worked hard long hours to make those beautiful items. Stone work, woodwork, blankets and bead work. All beautiful. Even clothing. Pricey. Worth every penny I'm sure. I was just clueless.

It is thrilling to be able to read of my Walker/Rankin forbears written long ago by my forbearers.

We attend the PowWows in September and my family is always impressed at the progress made yearly by the Tribe. The staff is always welcoming and we like catching up with what's gone on during the year at the Annual meeting and the Gathering meal. I highly recommend visiting the area and there's plenty to do with Grand Lake being pretty close as well as museums and Missouri and Arkansas being a short scenic drive away.

Get ahold of tribal records and they would probably have to trace your blood line.
