I’ve been here several times as I’ve had a history of struggling with bipolar disorder and BPD. I had suicidal ideation each time I went and the hospital was a good place to stay safe. The doctors are hit and miss but it’s not that they don’t care, it’s just that they have so many patients to look after. The psychologist was wonderful and helped me make a plan when I got home. The LPC on duty was not helpful and I don’t recommend seeing her. Overall though, the experiences were good. I felt safe and cared for and was able to stabilize on meds and get some education on my Illness.

My husband went in here and was there from Monday to Friday. It took him 10 times to get them to bring the release of information papers for him to sign so they could talk to me. The psychiatrist only saw him for 5 minutes a day (not enough time to know if he was getting better or not). There were only a few group therapy sessions and NO individual therapy at all!!! There is also NO family involvement at all!!! He slept more there than he was at home!!! He seemed to be better, but then got worse. Went to his follow up with his own psychiatrist and the meds that the Dr there put him on were working against each other. I definitely recommend you take your loved one to a different facility.

I'm not sure of this but I did notice that those who were mentally "stable" had guests. I did not EVER see a child...but just call and ask...they are a very caring group of people.
