I attempted to get help through this organization for my domestic abuse case in court, and for support following the abuse. I asked for help with my statements, along with other support I needed such as counseling, and not only was nothing done to help, but the day of court when they were supposed to be by my side supporting me at court, they told me they were not helping me any more with no explanation, and we’re extremely rude with me at the courthouse. Before court, they claimed to be a system made to help people like me who were enduring extreme trauma and survived my abuse, and I felt so hopeless and alone in that courtroom because of them. I was never notified that I would no longer be receiving their help beforehand, as their help was the whole reason I went to court. I feel scammed by this place. They even tried to offer help for my mother, who is also in a situation like I was, and I had even considered taking her there for help, obviously until this happened. I will never recommend their services after being dropped by them after needing help and support. It’s so sad to see their signs in town advocating for abuse awareness, when I know the awful experience I had with them, and knowing many others may fall for it thinking they will actually help. Just a warning to everyone, if I could give zero stars, I absolutely would. Their behavior and disrespect was disgusting, and to this day it makes me sick thinking about how they treated me and my case, like it was nothing and unimportant. I endured four years of abuse and neglect at the hands of a man, had my life threatened verbally and with weapons, and experienced so much trauma at his expense. And when I tried to finally rid of him in court with an ex parte, they treated me as though I didn’t deserve their help and that my issues weren’t as important as anyone else’s. I would highly recommend using another service, if you actually want help or support when going through abuse or trauma.
