I stopped in at Discount Tire because it was close to the emissions testing facility. I had recently lost my dad and was trying to sort out everything that comes along with that process, including ensuring that his old car had current tags, hence the emissions test. The testing facility couldn’t test it because the tire pressure monitoring system light was on. I took it to Discount and they discovered that it had one bad sensor on the passenger side front. Luckily they had it in stock and it was $40. Unfortunately the guy I spoke with told me they wouldn’t do the job unless I bought a whole new set of tires from them! Sure, if I were driving it daily heading into winter it would have needed tires, but that wasn’t the case. I just needed it to pass emissions so I could get the tags current, then deal with the car at a more convenient time. I’ve had experiences similar to this with Discount Tire in the past, but decided to give them another chance and they failed me miserably. I had new tires and a new TPM sensor installed today at another retailer. I ended up deciding myself to buy a set of tires because it became obvious that I wasn’t going to be able to solve my predicament that day with ease and little expense anyway. I wasn’t pushed into new tires by the other shop. I don’t take kindly to vultures, and that’s the vibe I always get from Discount Tire. Don’t let these folks fleece you.

240$ just to get 4 tires mounted and I guess “dis mounted” if you purchased tires from somewhere else do not go here to have them installed. The dealership is cheaper.
