I started ordering from Song's as early as 2006. I can still hear one of the original owner's voice when she answers the phone, "Song's Teriyaki, how may I help you?" in my head and remember seeing the college fund/piggy bank for her son in front of the cash register. It had been there for years, even after he had probably graduated from college. Lol. Well, yesterday was the 1st time I had ordered from Song's in about 3-4 years. Apparently, ownership has changed. I had a hankering for their spicy chicken teriyaki and shrimp tempura so I placed the order to go on my way home from work. Stepping foot inside the restaurant, I can see there has been a lot of changes. No more maroon, I think, couch against the wall and the lighting was brighter. I'm assuming the owner, an older gentleman, rung up my order and he was very nice. Made small talk with me as he was ringing me up. My order was already done the moment I walked in. The price was a bit more expensive than I remember ($18.18) but of course, the pricing of things has gone up in recent years. I was so excited to dig in once I got home. The presentation for the teriyaki looked the same but the shrimp tempura was different. I remember in the past, the shrimp was butterflied flat so it made the shrimp tempura look bigger. This time, it was the original shrimp tempura you see at teriyaki/sushi places. Onto the teriyaki, I was so excited to take my first bite but I was disappointed. There was some heat to it but the sauce was so overpowering with ginger. Like it was too gingery and I love ginger but whoa, it was too much. I ate all the steamed cabbage to help with the ginger taste and I didn't eat parts of the rice that was soaked with the sauce. The chicken was cooked well but I couldn't get over the sauce. The shrimp tempura was good though. Overall, it was ok. It'll be awhile until I order from Song's again. They still have a special place in my heart.

This is suppose to be General Tso’s? What happen to the green onions and the sauce with sesame seeds? This dish had old dried chicken that had a hot sauce added to it and with carrots and peas🤮 there was no sauce and for the money I will take my business elsewhere. I spoke highly of this place in the past but under different management they have lost my business and I will not send my customers there. It’s Only a matter of time unless they change to keep the customers, they won’t be a successful business

Very clean and delicious

Does the restaurant have new owner? The quality and quantity of food is different and not in the good way. I love the old Songs Teriyaki.
