Great place to recycle anything but Styrofoam and film. If you live in longmont and bring a utility bill and an id you can dump Styrofoam, but I'm not a resident.

Laxmi Niraula | Apr 7, 2022
City of Longmont Waste Diversion Center | May 7, 2022

Colorado is not a state that participates in a deposited return system, so you're not able to receive ten cents for recycling bottles at any city or state facility. However, private recycling businesses in Longmont such as C&J Recycling on Martin Street may pay for some items, although you would need to check with them about all of the materials they would pay for.

However, that is subject to change depending on the continued snowfall. The best way to stay aware of collection schedule changes (for holidays, etc.) is by downloading our mobile phone app (for Android and iPhone) or signing up for customized collection reminders. Visit bit.ly/collection-schedule for more details on both options. Thanks! (jml)

Can I bring a bag of cat feces there?

Donna Plaisted | Nov 4, 2019
City of Longmont | Nov 4, 2019

No, pet waste creates a health hazard in compost. Neither backyard bins nor commercial facilities are able to "cook" compost to temperatures sufficient to kill pathogens that may be in animal or human waste. Landfills are designed to safely handle these items, so your trash bin is still the best place for them.
