Yes. A lot of women we see from Staten Island and Brooklyn come in for what is called "elective implant exchange" to change implant fill material as well as size. It's important to know that silicone implants are FDA-approved for women who are at least 22 years old.

We usually recommend patients start with BOTOX® because treatments are quick, effective for that type of line, and affordable. Our patients have the advantage of having their treatments performed by experienced board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Louis Cutolo for optimal safety and natural-looking results.

Both procedures are effective for reducing fat on the abdomen. CoolSculpting® does not involve surgery, anesthetic, or downtime, but the results take weeks to develop. Liposuction is a surgical procedure that involves tiny incisions, anesthetic, and some recovery time; treated areas are slimmer right away (although there is usually some swelling). The right choice depends on your priorities. We are happy to help you make the decision that is best for you.

While you will probably look slimmer, a tummy tuck won't help you lose much weight. Patients typically lose only about 5 pounds. It's a good idea to be close to your target weight before having the surgery.

In general, Dr. Cutolo recommends that patients take a week off from work; sometimes patients with desk jobs can work again within a few days of surgery. Most patients are ready to return to their regular workouts after about 3 weeks.

Patients recover at their own pace, but there are some general guidelines regarding tummy tuck recovery. It's important to walk around the house, even for just a short time, starting on the day after the procedure. Most patients can return to non-physical jobs about 2 weeks after the surgery. You should postpone strenuous exercise or physically demanding jobs for about 6 weeks to ensure you're fully recovered.

This is a common question. It's ideal to be as healthy as possible before undergoing an elective surgical procedure such as a tummy tuck. This means being as close as possible to the weight you intend to maintain. Patients who are within 10 to 15 pounds of their ideal weight can typically get a tummy tuck if they are in good health. Your body mass index (BMI) should also be below 30.

There are a few major differences between these 2 treatments, which both offer targeted, nonsurgical fat reduction. BodyTite is a minimally invasive procedure that uses heat produced by radiofrequency (RF) energy to tighten skin and reduce fat. CoolSculpting, on the other hand, is a noninvasive procedure that uses a process called cryolipolysis to destroy fat cells by "freezing" them. CoolSculpting doesn't tighten skin. Both body contouring procedures are designed for men and women who are in good shape but have areas of unwanted fat.

Age is not really a factor when it comes to deciding if someone is a good breast augmentation candidate. (Although the FDA requires women to be at least 18 to have saline-filled implants and at least 22 years old to receive silicone implants.) If you're considering breast augmentation, key considerations are that you’re healthy enough to undergo surgery and that your breast skin and tissue retain enough elasticity to support the implants.
