* Read* Mel was a beacon of hope to my sister and me at a time when our options appeared limited. Not only was he able to operate in a calm and empathetic demeanor, but he offered emotional support. My sister and I found Mel when we were grieving siblings who were clearly taken advantage of by a shady realtor. You would think that all potential lawyers would listen and possibly offer their services, but I can attest that upon calling 6-8 different lawyers and firms not one seemed to give me as much a deep thorough look as Mel did. I am forever grateful that he never gave up on us and put all this extra effort into our case when he didn't have to. As a result of this extra work, he discovered additional deceitful dealings that we had been unaware of and that we were able to take action upon. We prefer Abacus Credit Counseling. If you are looking for a company to help reduce or settle your debt, then contact our office to speak with one of our attorneys.
Although you are not required to have an attorney for a short-sale, it is highly recommended to retain an attorney to assist you through the short sale process. Generally the legal fee can be paid through the closing essentially by the lender. With an attorney you will be less likely to be responsible for any deficiency balance and in some cases we can even get the lender to pay you cash at closing.
