Definitely not a walking trail with all the D heads on bikes. Would not recommend bring kids out here for a walk. It's honestly just bike trails. Even though there's a path you literally have to hold your child the way they ride bikes there. They swear they own the road.

Hey Daniel, you'll have to acquire a permit to lock in the date. You can go to the cook county forest preserve website and look up reservations/permits, or you can go to the headquarters and buy the permit in person at 536 Harlem Ave at the intersection of Harlem ave and Lake st in River Forest. If you Google the website, I'm sure you can get a phone number as well to answer any further questions.
