August 12 2022 was the day I visited this office. Upon arrival I was the second person standing outside the entrance. A security guard soon emerged from the office and informed us that there was 17 people already inside. He informed us that that was the maximum capacity, and that he would allow us in as people left. Approximately 15 minutes later we made it inside. The person who worked inside as a greeter was very helpful and professional. We were directed to the kiosk where you take a number then seated, social distance style. Just about two hours later we were walking out with our completed agenda. Perhaps we were lucky based on all of the negative reviews. Thank you Mr. Torres and the rest of the staff.

Everyone was very nice & respectful. I was in there about 45 to an hour which wasn't bad to me at all. My situation was handled so thanks to the staff!

The “Female” Security Officer Stationed At The Front Door Was Too Darn Insensitive, unnecessarily abrasive Speaking & Rude. I’d Merely Inquired If There’s Any Extra Masks Available They’d Pass Out To The Costumers (Like All hospitals Do If We Don’t Have One) & She Snapped At Me For Just Asking A Question?! I’d Retrieved A Extra Mask From A Kind Costumer Outside Thankfully & My Case Worker At Window #6 Deescalated My Frustration By Helping Me Feel Better. She’d Make A Awesome Comedian🤣Because She’s Straight Forward When She’s Trying To Concentrate & Professionally Told Me Like It Is; But With More Of A Quiet “Zen-Moment” Type Of Way With No Sugar Coating Whatsoever!😂 Case Worker Reminded Me Of One Of My Sisters Who Lives In Mississippi With Her Southern Hospitality & I Also Learned How To Safely Get Up From Out Of My Chair🪑Seat (Saftey 1st) From Her Awesome Advice Yesterday. It Was Actually Comforting To Be Assisted By Her & I Learned A Lot About Myself The Little Time I Was There At SSI Office Thanks To Her Straight Forwardness & Positive Affirmations As Well. I Felt Much Better. Also Because Of Her Wanting A Quiet Moment, Which In Fact Actually De-escalated My Anxiety, Anxiousness & frustration Feelings (regarding Prior Rude security officer)I Respect That She Requested That I Wait Until She Completes Processing My Paperwork Before I Start Talking; I Do Tend To Talk Too Much When I’m Feeling Anxious Or Anxiety…She Was “Right On Point”😅It’s Almost As If She Already Knew About My Socially Awkward & Talkative Personality. I’d Like To Submit A Commendation For Window #6 Caseworker’s Hardworking Ethics, Her Utmost Patience With Me, Having Integrity & Also Great Short Safety Tip On Me Standing With My Walking Cane Before I Left Office😇Thanks To Her I’ve Learned To Have A Better Understanding & Appreciation For Her & All The Hardworking SSI Caseworkers, Her Caring For My Saftey🥲Goes A Long Way. I’l Foremost Wait Before Standing Too Fast: Steadily But Slowly Rock In The Chair-Seat 1st, Use My Walking Cane To Help Lift Myself Up Prior To Standing Up & Then Slowly Stand!👍🏾It Works Like A Charm.🤗Please Tell Her I Definitely Do Appreciate Her No-Nonsense Great Advice, All The Extra Paperwork She Patiently Re-Printed & Her Assistance/ Support She’d Given Me Yesterday. I Wish GOD’S Blessings For Her To Have A Beautiful & Safe Rest Of The Week!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

From my understanding you just need to go in with your divorce documents to the social security office and they should be able to change it for you
Unless you file for SS you can keep working but you would have to show it in your Tax Return that you are receiving SS and working on the same time...

The wait time in person is very reasonable at that particular office unlike others on the south side of Chicago and depending on what you go there for in my experience it has never been very long.
I don't know but call as you usually do and ask to speak to the regional director if that doesn't work go to the office on Lawrence up north east of western they're very good.
