Beautiful church. Definitely awe inspiring. Parking is a little rough in the area but plenty of free street parking.

St. Joseph is an institution of bondage and human slavery that advocates for the removal of women’s rights and human rights.

We looked at many churches for our wedding day, and St. Joseph exceeded expectations. First off, the wedding coordinator, Jutta, is very kind and extremely responsive. She will keep you organized and make sure you have everything planned for the big day. Our music coordinator, Joan, was also fantastic and helpful when planning our music program. And, WOW, we loved Father Larry. He made our ceremony feel so personal - many of our guests commented on how much they loved our ceremony. Another benefit of the church is that they do not have a preset list of vendors or other restrictions, which was not the case at other churches. We highly recommend this beautiful, historic church for your wedding day!

Here's a link to mass times http://www.icsjparish.org/mass-schedule St. Joseph is on Orleans and IC is on N. North Park Ave
St Josephs has mass at 8 and 11am on Sundays. The Immaculate conception campus has mass at 5p Saturdays and 930a Sundays. There is usually a 1230 mass on Sundays, which is on hiatus for the summer
Thanks for you question, Godwin. Per the previous two answers, yes the parish has free parking. We also have two churches to choose from, depending on what's convenient for you. You can find a map (with parking information) and more about ICSJ at www.icsjparish.org/contact.
1846 is when St. Joseph Church was founded. The church was originally located at Rush and Chicago and was the 3rd Catholic church founded in Chicago, primarily for German immigrants at that time. They had just finished building a big beautiful structure there to replace the original and the Great Chicago Fire wiped it out a couple years later. They rebuild a temporary wooded church and ultimately rolled that one over to our current location, then rebuilt our current beautiful gothic style church. It has been through a few changes as the neighborhood has changed. Our Immaculate Conception worship site has an equally interesting story...come visit us and learn more!
